Woah! This bag has some crazy flavour notes. What makes it so special?
Coffees like a Gesha, or a Yirgacheffe, are pretty unique. They can produce some incredibly distinct flavours, miles from what you'd normally associate with a coffee. What makes them so different?
- These are coffee trees that grow a lot taller, and take longer time to produce. It can take 2-5x as long to harvest the coffee cherries off of these trees!
- Because of this, they take up more space and take more care before they can be harvested.
- On top of needing more space, more care, and more time: they produce less cherries than other coffee trees
But, the fruitsof the labour don't go unrewarded. These types of coffees give some unique, sometimes intense, tasting notes like jasmine, bergamot, tropical fruits, jams. They offer their own entirely new spectrums to explore.
